Since late August, the emergency situation in Rakhine State, Myanmar, has worsened with violent clashes reportedly resulting in over 1,000 dead. Over 700,000 have fled Myanmar in what many world leaders are calling GENOCIDE. Rohingya people are still trapped in conflict zones in western Myanmar and are at risk as the violence and torture of the Rohingya people is escalating. Thousands of families have been forced to leave their homes and everything behind after witnessing unspeakable horrors.
The suffering of the Rohingya people is beyond our comprehension. They have lost absolutely everything; their homes, their belongings and their dignity. It’s up to us to reach out in their hour of need.
We are targeting the most vulnerable people in Bangladesh’s refugee camps, but we can only continue this vital work with your help. Just £55 will buy an emergency food parcel for a family of six.
Our food parcels contain the staple diet and requirements of the local people. Each food parcel contains the following:
10 kg Rice
2 kg Salt
4 kg Lentils
2 kg Sugar
2 kg Dates
4 Ltr Cooking Oil
24 Packs of Instant Noodles
1000gm Powder Milk
The numbers of Rohingya seeking safety in Bangladesh have been steadily rising since the 25 August attacks. Most of those appear to be women, children and injured people. More are said to be stranded in an unoccupied zone between Myanmar and Bangladesh.
In the camps shelters are scarce and torrential downpours have turned the ground muddy while diseases have become rife due to poor sanitation and lack of basic medical supplies, adding further misery and despair.
These people need your help. Not tomorrow, not next week. Now. We cannot allow this suffering to continue any longer so please donate today and help us save lives.
